JALwaysのCAになった理由

キャビンアテンダントは多くの女性達にとり憧れの職業ですが、私にとっても同様、CAになる事は子供の頃からの夢でした。'大人になったら何になりたい？′と聞かれると必ず、'大きくなったらスチュワーデスになりたい'と答えていたものです。

毎年多くの航空会社が客室乗務員の採用試験を行っています。私がJALウェイズに興味を持った理由は、バンコクに基地を持つ大手航空会社であること、１０００人ものタイ人を採用していることです。そのような会社ならば、タイ人の才能について良く理解をしているでしょうし、そんな会社で客室乗務員として勤務が出来ることは誇らしい事に思えたからです。

採用面接では、なぜ客室乗務員になりたいのですか、という質問がありました。私は、客室乗務員になることで様々な国の人々と出会うことができ、色々な国の文化を、特に日本の文化を知ることが出来るから、と答えました。日本人女性には着物を着る習慣がありますが、着物を着た姿は優雅で趣があり洗練されていて、大変魅力的です。私にはJALウェイズのCAも同じように魅力的に見えました。それに、客室乗務員は海外で長い時間を過ごします。今晩は日本に宿泊、明日はホノルルやシドニーでショッピング、等、変化に富んだ生活だと思いませんか？

JALウェイズの客室乗務員訓練生となってから、一人前の客室乗務員として乗務が出来るようになるまでの間、想像していたよりも多くの事柄を発見しました。例えば、私たちは訓練期間中に丁寧で正しい日本語を学びましたが、私達が学んだ日本語は高く評価されているということです。これまで日本語について何も基礎知識を持っていなかったにもかかわらず、たった３ヶ月でそれだけ話せるようになるとは、いったいどこで日本語を習ったのですか、と時折お客様が尋ねてくださいました。

 訓練生が学ぶ事柄は多岐にわたります。飛行機の構造、翼や尾翼やエンジンやその他のシステムについて、又、機内設備や各設備の使用法についても学びました。一流品を扱いながら進んでいく機内販売の授業は大変楽しかったです。ショッピング好きな方は、機内販売の授業は大いに楽しめると思います。ファーストエイドの授業も興味深いものでした。看護婦さん等、医療に従事している方々を手助けできるよう、これまでは見たこともなかった医療機器について、又、お客様の命を救う方法について学びました。お客様全員に自分の声が聞こえてしまう機内アナウンスの授業も、大変面白いものでした。客室サービスの授業では、機内食を美味しく調理するこつや、美味しい飲み物の作り方を習いました。私が最も興味を持った授業は、安全と緊急時の対応についてのものでした。「安全」は、私たちが生活する上での基盤です。又JALグループは、「安全」に何にもまして重きを置いており、社員は、安全に関して定められた行動規範に沿って業務を遂行します。社員全員が、「安全」を維持するためにたゆみなく努力し、「安全」に関する最新情報を得るために常に気を配っています。私は、安全に関する訓練を受講し、全社員が「安全」を維持するために日々努力していることを知り、JALウェイズという会社に非常に自信を持つ事が出来ました。

JALウェイズ客室乗務員として7年が経過し、現在は、バンコク基地Safety advisorの一員も勤めています。どのエアラインのCAになるのが一番ですか、と聞かれたら、JALウェイズです、と答えます。

Why I chose to be a Cabin Attendant of Jalways

Many girls dream to be a Cabin attendant so did I. When I was young, I was asked "When you grow up, what will you be?" I always answered that I would like to be a stewardess. Although I did not do well at English in High school, I was aware that English was important subject to be a stewardess. I ,then, tried very hard till I finished the university education and passed an English test, to clear the scores that the company set the quality of cabin attendant.

There are many airlines for the application every year. I had interest in JALways because it is a big foreign company having established base at Bangkok, welcoming thousands of Thai employees so far, which told eloquently that the company has been happy with Thai people. Then I was thinking I would be proud if I could be the company's cabin attendant.

When I had a interview, the interviewer asked me why I wanted to be a cabin attendant. I answered this career would enable me to meet many people in any race, and various cultures especially Japanese culture which exists naturally in daily life. For example, a Japanese girl dressing KIMONO; she looks graceful, gentle, smooth-mannered and has an attractive feature. The company's cabin attendant looked like as her. And one another thing is that cabin attendants always spend the time oversea. Say, tonight in Japan, tomorrow to enjoy in Honolulu, shopping at Sydney. Exciting life isn't it?

After joining JALways I found that there were more than I thought till I became a cabin attendant. Learning Japanese here is also one of the points to be admired. We use very polite language. Some passengers asked me where I had learned the excellent Japanese. Even though I did not have the basic knowledge or learn Japanese before, I could reach the level to manage after 3 months.

All trainees have to learn many different kinds of subjects such as Aircraft and equipments, we could know the component of aircraft; wing, tail, engines, system and how to use equipments. An in-flight sale is enjoyable. We were enjoying with magnificent products. If you like shopping, you will like this subject. First aid is also interesting; we could learn the medical equipments that we never learn anywhere and how to save passengers' life. You can be a nurse's assistant. Public announcement is very funny; all passengers could hear your voice. In-flight service is exited to learn, we could know how to prepare the delicious dishes and good drink.

Safety and Emergency is the most interesting subject to me because the life needs safety as standard factor. JAL group emphasize Safety First which is the safety charter all employees must perform. We learnt and practiced hard and hard which we never stop, we have to update and alert ourselves all the times, I have confident in Jalways after I touched the safety training and all employees performs.

Working as a JALways Cabin Crew for 7 years, now, also I am having a charge of Safety Advisor in Bangkok. If I introduce which airline is suitable to be cabin attendant, I am proud to say it is JALways.
