My adventure in my off time

クルーマガジンをご覧いただいている皆様、始めまして。今回は、私の休日の過ごし方について書かせて頂きたいと思います。突然ですが、皆様は休日をどのように過ごされていますか?リフレッシュの仕方は一人一人千差万別だと思います。因みに私は客室乗務員の同期や親友たちと遊びに出かけたり、読書、実家に帰って家族と愛猫と過ごしてみたり、スポーツ観戦、時にはひたすら寝る！などいろいろな事をしながら休日を過ごすのですが、そんな中でも好きなことは、気心の知れた友人との旅行です。そして、特に国内旅行が最近の私の密かなブームとなっています。

飛行機や客船に乗れば世界中どこでも行く事が可能となった現代、意外と世界は広いようで狭いのかなと感じるときがあります。と同時に、客室乗務員となり乗務し始めて気付いたこと、それは母国日本についてもまだまだ知らないこと、行った事のない場所が沢山あるということです。四方を海で囲まれている島国日本は独自の四季、伝統や文化を持ち奥が深いなあと毎回旅するたびに感動の連続でとても嬉しくなります。
今まで訪れた中でも、印象に残っているのが、昨年沖縄へ行った時に出会ったとあるビーチです。私は機内から見える空が大好きで同じぐらい海も好きです。それらを眺めながら本を読んだり、そこに流れるゆったりとした時間を好んで、ステイ先でもよくビーチへ出かけるのですが、沖縄のビーチは海外に引けを取らない、また人間の手が全く加えられていない自然そのものでした。どこまでも続くゴミひとつ無い白い砂浜とエメラルドグリーンの海に魅了させられたと同時に、それらを大切に守り続けている地元の人やそこを訪れる人々のそのビーチを愛する気持ちを感じました。その土地の特産物やお食事を頂けるというのも楽しみの一つです。ビーチの帰りに立ち寄ったカフェでは、どこか懐かしい気さくに話してくださる店主のおばちゃん特製の、沖縄名産黒糖を使ったチンピン（沖縄風クレープ)やヒラヤーチー（沖縄風お好み焼)をいただき、これらも絶品でした。

また国内旅行で連想されるのが各地の有名な温泉ですが、中でも私の一押しは、鹿児島県指宿で体験した砂蒸し風呂です。温泉熱で温められた砂に砂に体を埋めると始めは気持ちが良いのですが、10分も経たないうちに熱いと感じて辛くなってきます。しかし15分程我慢をして砂風呂から出てきた時には、全身ポッカポカで疲れがふっとんだ様にリフレッシュできます。

旅についてお話をし始めるときりがないのですが、旅先で経験する全ての事柄が新鮮で、私はいつもそこに日本の良さを実感します。伝統を受け継ぎ、大切に守り続けている人たちとの出会いが、私にとっての旅の醍醐味といえます。そして日々の疲れからリフレッシュでき、温かな気持ちになってまた頑張れる源となります。旅先で出会う人たちのように、いつも私の心を支えてくれる周囲の人たちが笑顔になり、少しでも温かな気持ちになれる存在になれたら素晴らしいと思います。

御存知の方もいらっしゃると思いますが、JALwaysにはタイ人客室乗務員が多く在籍しています。彼女達と話していると、母国タイに誇りを持っている事がわかり、それは本当に素晴らしいことだなとつくづく感じています。私も彼女達と共に乗務していく中で、切磋琢磨しながら日本の良さ、日本人らしさを追及していこうと思います。私の未知への探検は続いていいきますが、この先どんな人々や体験と出会えるのかワクワクドキドキ楽しみでなりません。皆様とも機内でお目にかかれることを楽しみにしております。

My adventure in my off time
It is my pleasure to have a chance to make first greeting to readers of Crew Magazine. I would like to introduce how I spend my off time today.
I wonder how all of you would spend your vacation. I guess it varies person to person in his/ her refreshing style.
As for me I love going out with colleagues, reading, spending time with family and my cat, watching TV sport programs, and having a long good sleep. Of all those thing my most favorite thing is going out to journey with my good friends. In particular I love to visit domestic places, which actually is my secret boom.

As we are living in the era when we can reach almost anyplace in the world by aircraft or cruiser, I consider that the world is getting unexpectedly small. What I found myself after working as a cabin attendant is that I still have many places and many things that I did not know and visit even in my mother country, Japan.
Every time when I travel inland , I get impressed and happy by watching beautiful sceneries changing from season to season and local tradition or culture, all of which has been cultivated in this island country surrounded by sea.

The most impressive place is the beach in Okinawa island where I visited last year. I love to see the sky seen from the cabin of aircraft but also like sea as well. I used to read books and go out beach, and I like looking blue sky and sea there. I often go out to beach when I fly overseas on my duty. Even compared with the beaches abroad, the beaches in Okinawa are beautiful and remain untouched from human being and competent enough with them. Enchanted with the beautiful white sea shore and Emerald green sea, I did respect the local people's effort having been keeping its beauty for long period. I also enjoyed the local delicacies in the restaurants where I dropped off on my way from the beach There a friendly middle aged female shop owner made me special crepe using local brown sugar and local pancake. I could not forget its taste.

Inland trips also hint me about the many hot spring resorts all over this country. Of all the hot springs where I had visited before I'd like to recommend the sand-steaming bath in Ibusuki in Kagoshima. I felt quite comfortable when I started to soak into the hot sand warmed by the heat from underneath.　However I got to feel hard in ten minutes and in another five minutes I feel quite completely warmed up and refreshed as if my fatigue had all gone.

I really can not stop talking about my journey. I guess it is because that I love to encounter the good point of this country brought by the every un-experienced events during the journey.

It is the real pleasure for me to encounter local people succeeding its tradition firmly, which also would make me refresh and revitalize. I do hope that I could be such a existence who can make the people around myself happy with smile and warm heart.

Lastly many Thai cabin attendants are working in JALways as some of you may already have noticed. When I talk with them I always find that they are proud of their country. I admire such a attitude greatly. Like Thai cabin attendants I try to find good points of my country and the way to appeal them. I am trying to explore another good destinations in Japan. I am greatly excited to imagine the new encounter of the local people and new experiences. See you in cabin.
