バンコクは私たちJALwaysが設立当初から就航しているとても馴染みのあるところです。

マッサージ、買い物、寺院巡りなど魅力は盛り沢山ですが何といっても外せないのが「タイ料理」です。普段は食べる専門の私でしたが、今回は同僚と共に参加したレストラン「Blue Elephant」の料理学校についてご紹介いたします。

スラサック駅の目の前にあり気品ある真っ白い洋館が目印です。少し早起きして私たちは午前中のクラスを受講しました。授業の前にまず現地の人で賑わう朝市に行き、香辛料やタイの野菜、果物について説明を受けます。普段なかなか足を踏み入れない所ですが、その何とも言えない匂いと喧騒がタイにいることを実感させてくれます。

その後教室にて先生のデモンストレーションをもとに本格タイ料理4品を作ります。
最後にレストランにて料理を頂くのですが、タイ料理のお皿を飾る簡単なカービングも教えてくれるので味はもちろん!?見た目もそれらしくなったかな...と我ながら感心してしまいました。

参加者も世界各国からの観光客や駐在の方など多国籍でとても楽しい時間が持てました！
ガイドブック等にも紹介されていますが、様々なところで体験教室が催されていますのでご都合に合わせて参加してみてはいかがでしょうか？

Bangkok is one of the most familiar destinations to JALways as it has been flying since its establishment.
You can enjoy many of its enchantment as massage, shoppig and visiting temples, but what you can not miss is the Thai dishes.
I used to only enjoying its delicacies but today on this opportunity I would like to introduce the cooking school of "Blue Elephant". I joined a class with my colleague.
The white western construction in front of Surasak Station easily guides you where to visit.
We joined the morning class ,then we woke up earlier than usual.
Before starting the class, we visited morning market and had explanation about many spicies, Thai vegitables and fruits. We were suprised with many local people shopping actively.
I seldom had a chance to drop in local markets. then the undescribable scent and its active atmosphere made me feel that I was really in Thailand.
After returning to class room, we made four dishes, having the demonstration of a teacher.
Finally we enjoyed self-made dishes at the restaurant. On that occasion, the teacher taught a easy curving to decorate Thai style plates, which made me feel happy and great that the outcome really looked nicer than expected.
As the students of the class were international as tourists and Bankgok-stationed staff, we also enjoyed the communication with them.
You may find the detail of the class in guide books. I wonder if you could think of trying this kind of expereience.
