私のお気に入りの散歩道（ハワイ編）
Hawaii, The Land Of Aloha!

ハワイ（ホノルル）はオアフ島という名前でもよく知られていますよね。
ハワイはJALwaysの主要路線となっており当社は長年運航を続けています。このため私達乗務員は月に2,3度訪れます。

そう。到着したらホテルの部屋でグーグーと寝てしまうのって本当にもったいないですよね。そこで私は同じ便に乗務していた友人を誘ってホテルの周りのワイキキ地区がどんな感じかだけでも見ておくようにしています。

いつもはホテルに着くと普段着に着替え友達と散策に出かけます。
ヒルトンハワイアンビレッジの前にあるラグーン（環礁）から歩き始め海岸に向かいます。
すぐに海岸に到着します。いつもワクワクします。というのもこのワイキキビーチは世界的にも有名だという2マイルビーチだからなのです。この海岸を全部歩き終わるまではオアフ島から出てはいけないなんていうこともいわれたことがあるんですよ。
写真もいろいろなところで撮ったりしました。サーフボードの貸し出しをしているところもあって立てかけられたサーフボードが色とりどりで本当に素敵でした。海岸では靴を取ると砂浜が暖かくて本当によい気持ちです。いつも何かが起こっていて私達が訪ねた時も天気がとてもよかったです。海岸では日焼けをする人や水場で遊ぶ人々やサーフィンや写真撮影をする人で一杯でした。

海岸はダイアモンドヘッドに向かうにつれ細くなっていきます。その先はワイキキ水族館です。そしてさらに美しいけど少し怖いのがナナトリアム 戦争記念館です。1927年に第一次世界大戦で亡くなったハワイ出身の人々を記念し建てられました。私はそういった場所を後で見たときに一度はこういうところへ行ったのだとわかるようにすべて写真にとって残しています。そんなことをしていましたら疲れてしまいました。ワイキキデューティフリーショップの近くにあるインターナショナルマーケットに向かいます。デューティフリーショップで一休みをしてからホテルに戻りました。

Hawaii (Honolulu), also known as Oahu Island, has been the main route for Jalways for many years.
Therefore, any of us crew on duty would be there on an average of two to three times per month. I would say it is a pity if you would only lock yourself up in hotel room snoring away after your duty is done.
I would suggest you to bring out a friend in the pattern and to at least take a look at how Waikiki area outside your hotel looks like.What I normally do is to go out with my friend straight away after arriving at Ilikai Hotel and changing to our casual clothes.
We would start at the lagoons fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village and continued on down towards the beach. Soon, we were there. We were so thrilled. This is the famous Waikiki Beach! A two-mile stretch of shoreline known throughout the world. I was told not to leave Oahu until I had walked the whole length of this beach. We took photos in every detail. There was this area where they rent out surf boards. The surf boards were placed in rows, and they looked so colorful and nice. We took off our shoes and enjoyed the warm sandy beach. The feeling was great; this beach is really a happening beach and the weather was very good. It is crowded with people doing sun-tanning, water playing, surfing, photo taking, etc.
The beach narrowed as we headed toward Diamond Head. Ahead was the Waikiki Aquarium, then the beautiful yet eerie Nanatorium War Memorial, built in 1927 to honor men and women of Hawaii who fought in World War I. We took photos of all these places for memories, to prove that we were there at least once in our lifetime. By then, we were exhausted. We headed back to the international market place. The market was just nearby the Waikiki Duty Free. We stopped by the Duty Free to enjoy the air-con before we headed back to our hotel.
